Wrapper 01, Intro, Accidental video

[At first the only thing the viewer can see is darkness. The silence it
brings is shattered by the steady sound of pounding and then the screen
is awash with light. Once it has adjusted it focuses in on a man
standing on a knocked down door. He bends down to pick up the device but
doesn't give it much attention.]

What the-

[He lets out a low whistle.]

This place has seen better days. Toto, we're not in Kansas anymore.

[He pauses to look around.]

Uzuki? [Silence.] Shit.

[The feed cuts out.]

Well, if they've covered that for ya: people get sent home at random, they put us through new weird things every couple weeks - this's an off week, expect fireworks next. Most a the wildlife's hostile, but the bunnies taste pretty good with salt.

You'll hafta find your own place to crash, but there's a couple people who'll let newcomers stay till they manage it. Might wanna take one of 'em up on the offer. It's chilly this time a year.

Sounds about right. This isn't exactly the place I picture when I think of vacation time, but I get the feeling this is as good as it gets.

I take it some of the buildings are inhabitable then.

Some of 'em. You'll probably need to do a bit of work on anyplace that's not occupied, but you should be able to find somethin' that isn't fallin' over.

Sometimes worse ones'll last longer than a week, and those might happen right on the heels of real light ones... but that's not the kinda pattern I'd risk the rent money on if I were you.
